6 on the Dot

man with burgundy shirt and black shorts walking near a rocky beach with a small dog on a leash

I ain’t no dog
But I go for a walk in the morning
6 on the dot, man I know yall still snoring

Air out my mind
Gotta pull up the blinds
Yo “rise with the sun”
Is what my grandma left behind

I’ve been counting my blessings
My mindset is improving
Keep that state of mind
Empire State of Grind
But sometimes I gotta rest
Let the thoughts storm by

(Sometimes I gotta rest
Let the thoughts storm by)

I be stressing, I be cussing
I be holding back my offerings
I be losing love through violence
I be chaos then I’m silence

Keep the faith, I rest my case
Smell the flowers, get your grace
It don’t matter what I face
Love and happiness I chase

I miss the view when I go through
My head down and I’m astound
morals out the window
And I repeat the cycle

But I’m a light’s disciple
Though I play in shadow
I’m gonna be alright
Keeping fear out of sight
