Washed Out is one of my favorite music artists. I discovered him during my time in high school.

If you’ve read my recent article to conclude the 2024 year, you’d learn from it that my music streaming platform of choice is Pandora. From Pandora, I may at times find the song on YouTube and then surf the algorithm waves from there on, but my music journey almost always starts from Pandora.

You Said This Would Be Your Year, But You’re Only a Dreamer

So, one day in high school, while listening to some general indie rock, alternative, electronic, and chillwave songs, Pandora played Amor Fati through my headphones. Maybe it was instant, perhaps it happened after a few more listening sessions over several months, but I fell deeply in love with that song.
